Sky Pictures

Hello,
Today I´m posting another Sky Picture captured by my friend MS. My friend has given me permission to post pictures both in Netsource and my other blogs.
It´s a beautiful picture of our winter afternoon sky with a sun set hiding behind clouds.
Enjoy :)

Much Better

That´s right, as my post´s tittle says, I´m feeling much better.
Medication is working well and the pain is gone. I´m almost ready to get back to my normal routines, including blogging.
I´m planning to travel alone for Christmas. I´m thinking about spending over a week in my hometown. Hope to recover my energies until then so I can drive and have a nice holiday trip to visit family and friends.
After that pause, I´ll be back home for New Years.
See you xx

Feeling Sick

Hello,
Since yesterday, I´ve been feeling a bit sick. I have fever and a strange intermittent abdominal pain which led me to stay in bed all day. I managed to cook dinner and still have a bit energy left so I turned my laptop on but in a few I´m off to bed.
I don´t think I have any flu symptoms so I discard that option. I lost appetite but been drinking plenty water all day.
Add my sickness condition to tomorrow ´s visit from my mom and you can just imagine how my weekend will be like. My mom is coming to visit us and wants to go mall shopping, specially clothes for my daughter. Gosh, I´m so not in the mood for that. Well, I´m going to bed earlier today, lets see how I feel in the morning.
Probably, I won´t be back to blogging until next week.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend xx

Research Methods

In my school days, and before entering University, students had to make their paperwork based on books, articles in some magazines and newspapers. We did not have the Internet as a research tool and that fact only makes today´s students life much easier.
It was only when I entered University, back in 2002, that I started using Internet as a research tool. I never used the Internet solely for my paperwork, my favorite resources were books complemented with investigations reports and scientific articles. Some of these articles were found online but I always tried to use as many scientific magazines available on our University library as possible.
Nowadays, the Internet is the first research source for many students. You see, there is so much information available online on any topic you can think about, why should one buy books and scientific magazines?
I now started helping my daughter with her paperwork too, for her level researching online is enough.
If you need to research on newspapers, there is also the possibility to do it online. Check out this newspaper archive for example. You can research online old newspapers by dates or topics.
I have been seriously thinking about going back to University again. When I sort out my financial situation, I´d like to try a specialization. If that happens, I think I will keep my research method. It takes more effort but is considered by most teachers as more valuable.

Back to Routines

Hello,
After a few days pause in my blogging, I´m back to normal school time routines.
Winter seems to be approaching, temperatures dropped and in the past few days we had a rain and wind storm which caused some damages in the city´s airport. In that night, I slept so profoundly that didn´t notice the storm, only knew about it the next day on the news.
This week, I finished my daughter´s Autumn wardrobe cleaning, except socks. I´m now left with two supermarket bags filled of socks to sort out :) I should sort out her games as well. She´s got many board games but doesn´t play with most of them anymore, they´re too boring for her age already. We have got a second hand shop downtown that I need to check, in case they´re still buying toys I could the ones she doesn´t want anymore.
As far as my online routines, this month, things have been pretty slow for me. I haven´t blogged much at my other blogs either. I´m not having a blogger blockage or something, it´s just that in the past months my brain has been busy with other life subjects and I just don´t feel much like writing. I guess I´m spending far too much energy on thinking and, as result, not doing much.
I think that in my case, it would be a good idea to settle a fixed timetable for my online activities and just stick to it. Being at home and accomplishing all I´d like to do needs a time management scheme as well.
See you soon.

Useful Gadgets

My infancy was in a time when there was no Internet, no cell phones, we had black and white TV and it only had two channels. There was no portable video games and no mp3 devices, and we were allowed to play on the street. Technology was limited, people read the news on the newspaper, yet we were happy children.
Technology has developed in extraordinary ways and some keep surprising me. Technology is now used to make our lives easier in so many ways. For example, I´m a driver and in my opinion one of the best gadgets to help drivers invented so far is the gps.
A few weeks ago I went to Lisbon and realized how a gps is a very useful device for those who frequently drive to places they don´t know very well such as big cities. The latest advance in this field is gps trackers. These devices are able to transmit information to another mobile phone and are used, for example, to track a person or a car. A device which I think can be useful to some people.
